**50 deep breaths in, 50 deep breaths out, the only thing in the world…my breaths and my heartbeat**
We often forget to take a step back, reflect, and truly think what we are doing at any given moment, too often we simply do and only then do we see the consequences. I challenge everyone, everywhere, especially with the current state of the union to practice this, to truly think, before doing. Whether that revolve around going out to see someone, choosing a new book title, making the next meal because door dash inevitably becomes overwhelmed, or goal planning for the future. Simply stop. Stop moving, stop talking, just think, take a deep breath, and really, truly, think what is best, what you want, and what you should do next.
It is this act of non-action, where you are deemed hesitant, and un-emotional, where the best of things actually ferment, are thought up, thought through, and then acted upon for the betterment of yourself and hopefully those around you. Don’t let silence confuse you, don’t let the passing of time frustrate you. Let it be, let it grow into something wonderful and great. This is even more prevalent today for many, as we sit inside staring out a window or at a wall, thinking up things to do with kids, siblings, parents, friends alike, that the act of beginning to understand who you are is most beneficial.
Wouldn’t it be something if everyone decidedly did what was best for everyone. Wouldn’t it be something that during a time of despair, fear, monotony, we learned what we wanted to become, what we wanted to do, instead of just continuing on.
Let this time be the blessing amidst the chaos. Let this time be the answer amidst the fear. Let this time shape who we are as a people, as a friend, as an individual. Think before you do, take a step back, and truly mull over your next steps. We can get through this, we will get through this, we must get through this, so why not come out better, stronger, and more attuned to who we are as a nation, who we are as a friend, and who we want to be when this is all over.
