Over the past 10 years, my life has taken continuous unexpected turns. From New York to Wisconsin to Minnesota to Nashville to Minnesota to good ole Mitzpe Ramon Israel. The problem is which place is good enough, why would I stay here? Where am I going next, and who should I stick around for?
My life has been sunshine and rainbows for the most part, but not without the hiccups and obstacles along the way. Dads job moves us half-way across the states, an opportunity takes me half-way across the world.
My question for you is where, why, when, and with whom. These are the questions I am struggling with, and if you can’t decide like me, I find that you should just keep moving, experiencing, and see where you end up. Ultimately family is just a phone call away. Take a deep breath, enjoy, explore, and see where the opportunities take you…
My blog encompasses this aspect. Everywhere you travel you make new friends, meet interesting people, and learn so so much from each and everyone. You get a glimpse into the lives of those from around the world, with aspirations and dreams just like you. Over the next few days, weeks, months, years, I hope to capture just a little bit of what the world holds. Just a little bit of what each and every person you run into throughout your life can offer. And just a little bit of the greatness that rubs off on you along the way. Join me on this Tale of Two Cities, one of home and away on all of the amazing journeys I have been able to have, am currently having, and hope to have in the future. What differentiates us all, how do we see similar things differently, and what are we all looking for when we step outside and experience the world outside our homes, our work, and our comfort zones.
I think travel is great. Learning about new cultures and how other people live each day can open your eyes to new possibilities and make you realize that there isn’t only one way to do things. I do firmly believe that Life isn’t all about location. The people make the place, and to me, home is where my people are.
Thanks for the response Dan! You are the first to comment. Your comment really hits home, especially with what I’ve done over the past couple of years. The place is an essential piece to life, yet you can make the most of what you have no matter where you are in the world with the networks you create, and the family/friends you keep in touch with.
